S'more Please!
Tonight we got to indulge in one of our favorite treats... S'MORES!
Oh, but first Melissa did a photo shoot with her new Build-a-Bear, Emma. She actually put up a red blanket as a backdrop then set up Emma, a Santa hat, and a pretend present in front and took this picture:
Now to our marshmallows. Melissa was so nervous to burn hers that she stayed away from the flames. Mommy finally convinced her that getting them in the heat would make them much more mushy and yummier too!
Here are Kelsey and Daddy about to chow down! Once Kels took her first bit she realized how messy this treat was... she thought twice about it after that, but decided it was worth the sticky fingers.
M'liss and Mommy enjoying our yummski, dummski treats. After Melissa was halfway through she decided she liked s'mores without the chocolate, so she dissected it and took the Hershey's bar off of hers... yes, Mommy finished that part off for her with no problem! YUM!

Now prepping for the s'mores Daddy taught M'liss how to transform a hanger into the perfect "Marshmallow Rod"... it even looked like a fishing rod Lissy said.

Giving Thanks Today
We had a fun filled day surrounded with lots of love.
Cousin Elliot seemed to be a natural at caring for baby Aubrey.
The Kelster was cruisin' around Grandpa's backyard in her jeep.
Syvette and Matthew had a little baby time... practicing for their special delivery due in June.
Happy Thanksgiving!
The girls and I made turkey cookies using our hands as the "cookie cutters". Here is our family of turkeys.

"Give Thanks in all circumstances..." 1 Thes 5:18
After receiving my daily devotional from Proverbs 31 Ministries today, I began counting my blessings. It is something I fail to do as often as I would like. God has blessed my life in many, many ways, but here are a few that I would love to share:
* God forgives me when I make mistakes - How great is He?
* God gave me Mikey who is not only my best friend and hubby, but a constant reminder for me to "spray some Rain-Ex on" (let the little glitches in life slide off, stop worrying, everything will be A-Okay).
* God blessed me with a large and wonderful family - I love it!
* God sent 3 precious baby girls for Mike & I to raise - I always say He thinks highly of us since He knows we can handle 3 girls. :)
* God gave me a special guardian angel to constantly light the way for me.
* God surrounds me with friends who strengthen me as a person by encouraging me and teaching me everyday.
I hope you have many blessings this Thanksgiving. Thank you for being part of my life.

Takin' One for the Team
Yesterday I became the proud owner of a Honda Odyseey.
Yes, a minivan... which is why the title of this is "Takin' One for the Team". My entire life I pledged that I would never own a minivan. However I feel that as the Mommy of 3 precious girls it is more important to have smooth transitions in and out of the car than to ride in true style.
I had 2 major criteria for this purchase...
1. It had to be an Odyseey
2. It had to be SILVER
Mike did lots of research and worked with several dealers and my brother, David, to find the best deal. He decided to go for the deal on a 2008 which was a challenge... most of the silver 08s were gone. Chris at Gillman Honda, San Antonio finally found one in Schertz, TX. YAHOO! So the whole family loaded up in the MDX (which the girls and I will miss) and headed to San Anton to pick up our new ride.
During dinner at Oakridge Barbeque off I-10 we discussed the name we would give to our new Odyseey. Kelsey and I voted Olivia, Melissa brought up Jan - it rhymes, and Mike said what about Stan (he really felt it should have a boy name to make him feel less out numbered). So that is how Stan the Man, Minivan joined our family.

THE Emily
This weekend I got to see one of my most special friends, Emily. This is THE Emily who talked me into starting this lovely blog. I know I am not entertaining her enough right now since I am rarely adding new posts, so this one is for her!

Our first borns being silly. They were friends even before they were born. Emily and I took several belly pictures together of them. Molly is 3 months older than M'liss.
The next go around I was 3 months ahead of Emily, so Kelsey is older than Ally. No belly pics for this one though, Mike and I had moved away by then.

Our Trick-or-Treaters
The girls all had a great Halloween!
Melissa, the "witch butterfly" was such a sweet big sister... she took 2 baskets trick-or-treating with her, one for her and one for her little sis, Aubrey! What a trickster she is.
Kelsey, the "just a butterfly", prefered riding in the stroller over begging for candy. I guess that's why her trickester big sister thought she wouldn't mind trading all the chocolate for the not so tasty candy at the end of the night.
Aubrey, our "little monkey", of course, enjoyed trick-or-treating in the sling. She was quiet and content... I guess she knew her oldest sister was hooking her up with the good stuff.

Introducing: Aubrey Shawn Wimberly
Our baby GIRL is finally here!
Aubrey Shawn Wimberly was born October 1, 2008 at 2:54pm. She weighs 7 lbs. 2 oz. and is 20 inches long. After 5 hours of contemplating her Mommy & Daddy decided on her name. She is a precious and delicate little girl, so Aubrey fits her just right. Shawn is Daddy's middle name... and don't forget the gold medal winning gymnast Shawn Johnson too!

She is a sweet baby, a wonderful blessing.
Melissa absolutely loves her and did not want to leave her new little sister's side. She bought Aubrey a "Beautiful Baby" ballon because she told Gram that her little sister is "such a beautiful baby".
Kelsey warmed up to her little sister the second time she met her - she cuddled with Gram and Aubrey on the not-so-cozy couch in the hospital room. Kelsey's ballon choice was a HUGE baby bottle... she would have chosen a pacifier balloon, but they had none.

Counting Our Blessings
Due to IKE we have been counting our blessings...
1. First and foremost, despite the damage done to family and friends homes, we are blessed that no one we know was injured. The homes can be fixed over time!
2. I am blessed with a husband who can make a hurricane seem like a big party for our 2 girls! See the pictures below for proof:
3. During the storm we were fortunate to have the bright yellow flashlight/radio combo that Gram & Pops gave to Melissa last Christmas. That battery powered radio was our sole source of information during the storm. And I have to admit that I thought that gift was so silly when Melissa opened it up... THANKS MOM!!!
4. After the storm knocked out our electricity we were reminded why we have chosen to keep a land line phone service... we are also thankful that my sister-in-law, Holly, thought a step further to have several non-cordless phones on hand. THANK YOU HOLLY for letting us borrow one!
5. We now realize how blessed we are to live in a time where we have many conveniences such as: refrigeration, washers and dryers, LIGHT BULBS, television, and of course the ability to pull into a gas station, fill up, and drive away in a matter of 10 minutes or less.
6. We are grateful that parts of Humble did not lose power after the storm - including Home Depot - which allowed that location to receive many generators Sunday morning. Mike & I were the first to check out (after waiting in line from 5:15am-8am) and bring a power source home for the family!
7. God was on our side and allowed Monkey to stay put and remain cozy in my belly. (I am especially thankful that he/she did not arrive in the middle of the hurricane... at 1am Saturday morning I started to imagine how that could play out - not a pretty picture!)
8. What a sight to see 20+ electric company trucks from Oklahoma trekking down the highway prepared to help out the city of Galveston. They looked ready to get 'er done. There are many crews just like that all over Southeast Texas. What an amazing country we live in!

A BIG Surprise for Mommy!
Over the past week Melissa & Kelsey have become a bit more independant when it comes to our morning routine. They use to wake up and call for "Mommy" or "Daddy" and wait for us to go get them out of bed. Now our growing, young daughters have discovered that they can get out of bed and walk themselves downstairs!
The other day, when I walked upstairs to get the girls clothes, I never would have guessed that I would see what was about to be before my eyes...
If you are unsure of what you are looking at, it is Melissa's bed that SHE MADE by HERSELF! I was so stunned and excited! What a big girl! And little sis' Kels had her blanket pulled up on her bed as well.
I am so proud to have 2 sweet girls who think it is fun to "figurate" (Melissa's new term for fix or organize) their beds. I LOVE them!

The Most Important Decision of the Year...
The girls started school this week. And you know the most important thing about starting school... what do you wear on the very first day?
When I was younger my parents always took the First Day of School picture in front of "The Tree" each year. I also got to wear the most uncomfortable outfit on that special day - my mom loved it!
Have I influenced these girls enough - purple & butterflies - my favorites. I just wonder if one day they will look back and wonder... why did mom dress me like THAT?

And I refuse to wear anything that a) needs to be ironed and b) has a ruffled collar and sleeves.
On Melissa's first day of Preschool yesterday she chose to wear her PURPLE outfit - she was so excited!
Kelsey started Mother's Day Out today she got to wear her BUTTERFLY outfit!

In 2005 I had my sweet baby, Melissa, whom I loved sharing pictures of with my family and friends. I started a blog (http://melissaleola.blogspot.com/) to assist in that effort - I updated it, but rarely shared the blog with others because it wasn't "complete" in my mind (if I am going to spend my time doing something, I like it to be done well and to the best of my ability).
I quickly realized that blogging took up too much of my time and that it probably was not worth the effort I was putting into it.
That said - I am not sure if this is something I want to take on right now... if you don't recall I am due in 4 weeks! However, I have received some pressure from my friend (named below) and after enjoying her blog (http://www.aggielandmyers.blogspot.com/) today I decided to give YOU a voice. YOU now have the power to determine my blogging fate...
Please answer the question to your right. After 30 days of collecting feedback I will make my decision. If the answer is YES, then it should be perfect timing to add pictures of my new little monkey! :)
